Last week, Urban Signals had a chance to help support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by co-hosting the Date4Charity event and auctioning off two members of the Urban Signals team including our CEO and Founder Aubree Nichols (who went for the highest bid at $600!) and the amazing Amber Rae.
A whopping $4500 was the total amount raised at the date auction! It was a great night making connections and helping out our friends at L & LS. Read more about the event at date4charity.tumblr.com.

Last night, Urban Signals hosted a gathering at The City Tavern to celebrate the recent release of relationship author and our good friend Andrea Syrtash’s book, He’s Just Not Your Type (And That’s a Good Thing).
Everyone from dating and relationship bloggers to old and new friends stopped by to support Andrea and find out more about the book. There’s nothing like a fun crowd, drinks, and delicious food to start off the evening. Of course, the Tweetup was not without great conversations about dating, men, women, love, and everything in between.

The article entitled “5 Reasons Google and Search Won’t Dominate The Next Decade” highlights the biggest trends in technology and why they may be eliminating the need to use Google as our primary search engine.

This week, I had the chance to stop by the eFlirtExpert Tweetup at SideBar in NYC to meet founder Laurie Davis and the “Jill of All Trades” Jess Hartman along with their team, some very cool dating bloggers, and a number of singles looking to get some flirting tips fromI the eFlirtExperts themselves. If you haven’t heard, eFlirtExpert.com is a great site dedicated to helping people find love online and offline. From assisting clients with their online profiles, to helping solve relationship conundrums, to giving advice to the dating confused, they’ve got you covered.
Founder Laurie is a firm believer that a person’s online profile is like a marketing campaign– it should be interesting but never reveal too much. Remember to keep it short, simple, and sweet. And for you online daters, she said it’s important to never view your first meeting as a “first date” but rather a meet up which gives you a chance to see if there’s any chemistry.
When I asked what one of the most common questions she gets, Laurie said many of her clients often ask her “what online dating site is the best to meet singles?” Her answer? There’s not just one. It varies with each person. Factors such as age , personality and whether you’re looking for something casual or more serious, can help you find your place in the online dating world. I even got some tips for myself!
Overall, it was a great night of tweeting, putting the faces to our Twitter friends and spreading the Urban Signals love!
